- Before jumping into MFC (assuming you have not done Windows
- programming before) get Petzold's 'Programming Windows 3.1' and
- go through it about three times. Then you can get a book like
- 'Inside Visual C++' and attack MFC. IMHO MFC is very confusing
- with no understanding of the 'standard' Windows API. If you can
- wait a few weeks get Petzold's 'Programming Windows 95' instead.
- If you are just starting out I would recommend Win32 programming
- (Windows 95/NT) over Win16 programming (Windows 3.1/WFWG).
